History
The Backstory
Mark and Kay Lewington found a passion and purpose to help others with addiction. The idea for this cause came from secondhand experience with addiction. Mark grew up witnessing what addiction has the power to do to a senior family member of his. They then had to witness it with one of their direct loved ones later on in life. These moments lead to the formation of their 501c3 nonprofit organization Tea and Cake Addiction Recovery Group. Mark and Kay have taken various tragedies, flipping the narrative into something inspirational.
Mission
The Driving Force
A fact that was the driving force behind Mark and Kay founding Tea and Cake Addiction Recovery Group was when they realized that in the addiction recovery process there is no aftercare for those who have completed the assigned rehabilitation. They noticed there was a gap in the world of addiction recovery that needed to be addressed and fulfilled. Tea and Cake Addiction Recovery Group has established a program that focuses on community, guidance, and support. This allows the program members to find stability and acclimate to their new lives outside of rehabilitation, giving them a fresh start with new access and opportunities.
Offering the best help, with the best intention.
“The core of Tea and Cake is rooted in my personal history because of my son. Every man that becomes a part of this program will be treated as if he was one of my son’s”
— MARK LEWINGTON, FOUNDER & BOARD CHAIRMAN
